Viruses,
trojans, malicious scripts....there are many ways to protect
from these. The easiest way is by installing a good antivirus.
Gonuts4free recommends using Norton or Mcafee. Both have
trial versions of the software, although it is not recommended
having 2 antivirus programs running on one computer as
this can create system conflicts between them... Just
have a look which one you might like best and then download
it from their web site.
Once
you have your antivirus installed you need to keep it
updated. Remember that there are always newer viruses
then antivirus. If you do not keep your system up to date...then
it's like not having a antivirus on your computer. This
small tutorial will explain you how to update your Norton
Antivirus program using the Liveupdate program. Please
note that you need to have Norton Antivirus installed
on your computer and that you are already connected to
the Internet.
Click
on "Start" - "Programs"
- "Norton Antivirus" - "Liveupdate"

The
liveupdate box will appear. Press "Next".

The
program is connecting to the symantec server and is checking
for new updates and virus definitions.

It
seems like there is an update available...Press "Next"
to download and install it.

Wait
patiently as it might take some time to dowload and install
it...

Once
it is finished the following screen appears...Press "Finish".

If
you open the Norton Antivirus program you will see that
the virus definitions have been updated...

Your
computer is now protected for the latest viruses. Make
sure you run liveupdate at least 2 times a week. There
is also an option to automatically update your system,
but some people prefer to get notified if new updates
are available.
Note:
Some updates require your machine to be restarted.
